Maria Gogova

Maria Gogova, M.D., Ph.D., serves as Vice President & Chief Scientific Officer for Altria Client Services. In this role, Dr. Gogova leads the science organization by developing and guiding scientific strategies for Altria's family of companies and builds the scientific capabilities needed to achieve Altria's Vision. Previously, Dr. Gogova has served as Vice President, Regulatory Sciences, focusing her team's work in support of Altria's tobacco product portfolio, including reduced-risk products. Dr. Gogova joined the Altria family of companies in 2002. During her tenure, she has held several positions that enabled and supported responsible product development by generating scientific evidence related to the reduced-risk products made by Altria Group’s tobacco companies. She applies her past experience as a physician, investigator, clinical study manager and clinical pharmacologist to shape Altria’s framework for bringing reduced harm tobacco products to market.She has authored numerous scientific publications, holds 6 U.S. patents and frequently presents on tobacco harm reduction to public health and regulatory audiences. Prior to joining the Altria family of companies, Dr. Gogova served as an internal medicine physician at the Oncology Department of St. Elizabeth Cancer Institute in Bratislava, Slovak Republic.
