Regulatory Toxicology Consultant – ToxPharm
Bonnie Coffa is a board-certified toxicologist and founder of ToxPharm LLC, specializing in regulatory toxicology, ingredient toxicological risk assessments, in vitro product testing, and FDA submissions for tobacco and nicotine products. She has nearly 15 years of experience supporting premarket applications, developing toxicological risk assessments, and designing in vitro regulatory studies aligned with FDA requirements. Bonnie partners with companies to execute scientifically sound, FDA-aligned toxicological strategies tailored to the evolving regulatory landscape for tobacco and nicotine products. Bonnie earned her PhD in Pharmacology from Vanderbilt University, where she investigated dopamine pathways in neuropsychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and Parkinson’s disease using pharmacological and neuroanatomical approaches. She completed postdoctoral training in tobacco regulatory science at Altria, where she later served as a Principal Scientist, and has worked independently as a regulatory toxicology consultant for the past six years.
