Jonathan Fallica
Dr. Fallica is an environmental health scientist with almost 20 years of toxicology and physiology experience focusing on tobacco-related exposures, tobacco harm reduction, toxicological processes, and risks associated with adverse health outcomes and clinical disease. Prior to earning his doctorate from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Dr. Fallica’s work centered on systematic random airspace measurements and developing murine models for different respiratory exposures, including whole smoke, that more consistently recapitulate human clinical results. In his later work at FDA, Dr. Fallica’s attention was on the development of platforms for consistent public health assessment regarding exposures to chemical mixtures and related regulatory decisions, as well as the establishment of tools that enhance and invite consistency in translating nonclinical toxicology research. Dr. Fallica’s current interests include transparency/collaboration in chemical risk assessment space, and understanding how the growing AI-based expansion of chemical toxicology information might inform regulatory decision-making and established risk assessment workflows.
