University of Kentucky Center for Tobacco Reference Products - FDA Cooperative Agreement Workshop
The Center for Tobacco Reference Products at the University of Kentucky will host a workshop starting at 3:00 PM on November 28thprior to the start of the 71st Tobacco Science Research Conference.
At the workshop, we will discuss the production of new smokeless reference tobacco products (loose-leaf chewing tobacco, moist snuff, pouched snus and Swedish snus), the recertification of the 1R6F Reference Cigarettes, and the selection and certification of a 1R6F Small Batch Reference Cigarette to be used for quality control, instrument calibration and analytical method development. Other topics will include an update on the development of additional certified tobacco reference products, A2LA accreditation as a Proficiency Testing Provider, the CIG-2016C, CIG-2017A, and CIG-2017B proficiency testing rounds and plans for future proficiency testing.
The workshop is meant to engage stakeholders to obtain feedback on tobacco reference products and programs being initiated within the CTRP with support from the FDA CTP.
